2025-2026 Session 4

February 12, 2026

Session 4: Foods & Nutrition

During Session 4, learners explored the important topic of foods and nutrition, gaining practical knowledge about how to care for their bodies and understanding the intentional design behind healthy living.

Students studied the food groups and discussed how eating a “rainbow” of fruits and vegetables supports different systems in the body. They also learned about the three primary macronutrients — carbohydrates, proteins, and fats — and the essential role each plays in providing energy, supporting growth, and maintaining overall health.

Middle school learners went a step further by creating a full-day meal plan and analyzing their macronutrient totals, developing a deeper understanding of balanced nutrition and thoughtful food choices.

All learners collaborated to create a healthy snack recipe book, applying what they learned in a practical and creative way. One of the most memorable activities of the session was trying new fruits and logging their likes and dislikes — encouraging curiosity and a willingness to try new things.

As with every session at Agapao Academy, students presented their projects and learning at our Celebration of Learning, building confidence and communication skills while sharing their growth with family and friends.

At Agapao Academy, we believe learning should be purposeful, hands-on, and connected to real life — equipping students not only academically, but practically and confidently for the future.

  • 2023-2024 Session 1

We had a great 1st Session that ended mid October. We had a little hiccup with getting into the church where we intend to meet permanently. Operating out of our home tested both our resolve and flexibility on top of patience and having boundaries but we managed and had a great opening session.

We established our routines with our core academics (reading/grammar, math, and handwriting), studied color theory and stop motion production. Our adventurers learned to work together in a small place and how to welcome new faces to the group.

Here’s a short video highlighting session 1! Stay tuned for session 2 highlights!
